Worship

Saturday Evening Worship

This service meets at 6:00 pm year-round. We usual follow one of two orders of service. This service is ideal for those whose schedules prevent them from attending on Sunday morning. Everyone is welcome, especially children!

Sunday 8:00 am Worship

This is our more traditional (liturgical) worship service. Most of these services use the Lutheran Service Book, the latest released hymnal of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We join in a rich tradition and history of the church as we join together for liturgical worship. Many of the elements in these orders come straight from Scripture and have been used in the church for many years. As we join in worshipping our Lord using these orders, we join with the company of saints who have gone before us. Everyone is welcome, especially children!

Sunday 10:30 am Worship

This is our most varied worship service. While we usually use orders of service from the hymnal, once a month we have a blended contemporary service that we call "Today's Praise." On these occasions we have a keyboard, guitars, drums, and lead singers, who help direct the musical portions of the service. We also tend to have more special music including solos, instrumentals, etc. Everyone is welcome, especially children!

Dart Bus Transportation

Transportation is available for our 10:30 am Sunday service. Just call the Dart Bus Transit, at 515-573-8145, the Friday before and let them know you would like a ride to St. Paul Lutheran Church on Sunday. They will pick you up, and take you home. When calling you may ask what time they will arrive. Thank you for worshiping with us.

Advent & Lenten Services

These are held during the appropriate seasons and are held on Wednesday's at 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm. These services emphasize the season's theme and usually have a topical theme to the sermons that fits the applicable season.

Communion

We offer communion on the first and third Sunday's of the month at our 8:00 am service. On the second and fourth Sunday's communion is offered at our 10:30 am service. On the occasion of a fifth Sunday in a month, communion is held at all three services that weekend. Saturday evenings communion is offered based on the 8:00 am service the following morning. Based on what God has said in His Word regarding The Lord's Supper, non-members are asked to visit with a pastor prior to the service before receiving Holy Communion.

Other Notes

For those who would rather keep their hands free, most of our services are led from screens in the front of the sanctuary.

Hymnals are available in the pews for those who wish to follow along in the book. For those who have trouble seeing the screens and the hymnal, Large Print Worship Bulletins are available from our ushers.

For the hearing impaired, we offer headsets that are connected to our sound system please see an usher or pastor if you would like to use one.

We offer a nursery for those with infants or toddlers. The audio portion of our services can be heard in the nursery. The nursery is staffed most Sunday's during the Sunday School hour for those children under 3 years old. Potty-trained children 3 and older are welcome in our Sunday School program.
