Our Mission Statement: Disciples of Christ Making Disciples for Christ
My dear friends in Christ,
As the vibrant hues of summer begin to fade into the cooler tones of fall, we find ourselves transitioning into a new season—both in nature and in our spiritual lives. This time of year, offers a unique opportunity for reflection and renewal. As we bid farewell to the warmth of summer, let us embrace the changes ahead with renewed faith and commitment.
I have some Incouragements for us as we move into this new season:
Be Faithful in Worship
As we move into this new season, it’s important to remain steadfast in our worship and gatherings. The fall often brings a return to routine, making it an ideal time to renew our commitment to attending worship services. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.” Our presence in worship strengthens our faith and supports the collective growth of our church & school family.
With the changing of the seasons, let us also focus on growing in our faith. The Bible calls us to continual spiritual growth and maturity. In 2 Peter 3:18, we are instructed, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” This season is an excellent opportunity to deepen our understanding of Scripture, engage in prayer, and participate in Bible studies and Sunday school. By seeking God earnestly and striving to live according to His Word, we nurture our relationship with Him and prepare ourselves to face the challenges ahead with wisdom and grace.
The arrival of fall is a wonderful moment to recommit to serving others. Just as nature undergoes transformation, so too can our service to the church, school, and the community. The Apostle Paul reminds us in Galatians 5:13, “Serve one another humbly in love.” Let us seek out opportunities to serve in the church & school, help those in need, support local initiatives, and be a beacon of light in our community. Whether it’s through volunteering, supporting a charity, or simply offering a helping hand to a neighbor, our acts of service reflect Christ’s love and grace.
As we welcome the fall and all the changes it brings, let us do so with a commitment to worship, a desire for spiritual growth, and a heart open to service. May this season be one of renewal and transformation, both personally and as a church & school community.
Blessings,
Pastor Kendall Meyer
